An Education

I saw the film after reading the book. And the film only covers one chapter of the book. The book is the memoir this author Lynn barber’s  relationship with her past lover, the conman Simon, her swinging 60s oxford school life, her account of the early years of penthouse and coping with her husband’s illness in later years.
The beginning of the story set in the 1960s of suburban England where 16 years old Lynn eager to be independent and rapacious for experience “I want to read what I wand and listen to what I want” she declares. Sooner she met this man Simon and his impossibly glamorous company of these grown-ups who taught Lynn to know about drinks and talk about literature and listen to jazz. then later I am sure most of you all agree that’s also the climax of the chapter when Lynn’s parents encouraged Simon to marry their daughter but then Lynn realizes that Simon is not the man she thought he was and that Simon is actually a married man.
Overall, I think some girls will be able to relate to this story, when you were young, you had only little daily experience and you found a man who get you the taste of the life you have dreamed of but eventually you ended up found that man is always belong to someone you didn’t know. It is sad but it truly happened when you had no real life experiences. That’s why my personally think education shouldn’t be restricted to textbooks. You wouldn’t succeed nor survive in the outside world if so.
